Beat Saber Has Released a New Free “FitBeat” Track Which Supports Both Standard and 360°/90° Modes

The VR rhythm game Beat Saber is currently in almost all virtual reality headsets. The beat slashing game offers one of the most accessible VR entertainment forms and has grown increasingly popular with gamers and first-time VR users. It is a simple and fun game that almost anyone can enjoy. The studio has now released a new track known as FitBeat that is completely free.

The track’s fitting name ‘FitBeat’ was crowdsourced last month by Beat Games co-founder and Head of Music Jaroslav Beck. Given that Beat Saber is increasingly being used by many fitness enthusiasts to firm up and get fit, this is indeed a very fitting name. The game involves a lot of movement that helps people shed off some of the calories.

The FitBeat track features lots of barriers that players can step either side of or dodge so that they are not rooted at any one spot. The track makes players to physically move in order to keep up the multiplier.

Beat Saber isn’t a stationary game. The game, along with other rhythm titles such as Pistol Whip, Synth Riders and BoxVR have been hailed as energetic and hyper-interactive virtual reality experiences that can have some fitness implications. Beat Saber already offers a number of modes such as Standard, One Saber and the 360°/90° modes. While not all the tracks on Beat Saber are universal, the FitBeat track is universal so players can seamlessly shift between their preferred gameplay modes.

The addition of the FitBeat track is the latest in a number of updates that Beat Games has been adding to the highly popular title. In March this year, the studio released the Timbaland Music Pack in collaboration with the rapper and the music producer. This contained a 5-song set-list with exclusive tracks from artists such as Kaydence, Bruno Martini, Karra & Common Strangers, Nash Overstreet and Sid Tipton.

Beat Saber is available in a majority of the digital stores including PlayStation Store, Steam and Oculus Store. It supports HTC Vive, Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, PlayStation VR and Valve Index.

Beat Saber has sold more than 2 million copies across the world and is currently one of the best known VR titles.
